Honda says lawmaker should quit House panel. "It's interesting that when Trent Lott made those comments, it created such an uproar among our leadership," Honda said in a press conference at the Japanese American Museum of San Jose. "My question is, why aren't we seeing the same now?" [San Jose Mercury News] Could it be that the Republicans are making a political calculation in order to maintain their dirty little secret of catering to the "unenlightened" vote in the South? The majority of Asian-Americans live in California after all, a state the Republicans apparently have already given up on. Perhaps they feel like they had to give up so much in the Trent Lott affair that they need to throw a bone to the "Bob Jones University wing" of their party?   4:51:49 PM
