Political Wire’s Quote of the Day is truly amusing:
“I certainly hope that if there is going to be an indictment that says something happened, that it is an indictment on a crime and not some perjury technicality where they couldn’t indict on the crime and so they go to something just to show that their two years of investigation was not a waste of time and taxpayer dollars.”
It’s hard to imagine how the Republicans can say this kind of crap with a straight face.
I may be wrong here, but didn’t Ken Starr get an impeachment charge approved by the House of Representatives based on the fact that the only thing the Republicans could get out of years of investigating Clinton was a “perjury technicality?”
UPDATE: I suspected as much earlier, but didn’t have the time to follow up on this. Apparently, for Ms. Hutchinson, perjury is a “technicality” if you’re a Republican, but an impeachable offense if you’re a Democrat. Yes, she voted to impeach.
