The Mountaintop first went online in September of 1995 as a place where I hoped to interface with the WORLD about issues that are central to my heart. It was founded as a way that I could honor the memory of Martin Luther King, Jr., in my opinion the greatest of the 20th century Christian prophets, by addressing issues of injustice, intolerance, and general disregard for what is true. Though I have been inconsistent in my support for The Mountaintop, it has survived over the course of these past two years, and now enters its third iteration in a new and revised form. It still will serve as my sounding board for issues that I am convinced are vitally important to the future of the United States and the world, but it also is a window into my life. One of the wonderful things about the World Wide Web is the fact that anyone can become a publisher. And that is just what I intend to be. Over the past two years I have received many emails about the content on this site. Some have been critical, many have been encouraging, and in a few cases I think I helped some people out. I hope that in the future I can speak with more people through the means of this site, learning from them and sharing with them. I invite you all to participate. I do not know where this site will lead, but my intent is to make the third version more successful than the first two. It is my grand experiment with Internet technology. I am opening a window into my life, and inviting everyone to take a look. Hopefully, through this process, I can learn some things about myself, about the new world we have entered into in these waning years of the second millennium after the birth of Jesus, and most importantly, draw closer to God. I hope for the same things for all of you, as well!
